Author: Dr. Death Jack Kevorkian has died, WDIV Detroit reports:
"Dr. Jack Kevorkian passed away early Friday morning at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. Kevorkian died of pulmonary thrombosis around 2:30 a.m. He was 84-years-old (he was actually 83). The retired pathologist had been hospitalized for the past few weeks…Kevorkian was released from a Michigan prison in 2007 after serving eight years for second-degree murder. He claims to have assisted in at least 130 suicides."
Adds the Detroit Free Press:
[Kevorkian's lawyer Mayer] Morganroth said there were no artificial attempts to keep Kevorkian alive. Morganroth said he doubts anyone will assume Kevorkian's role in assisted suicide: 'Who else would take those kind of risks?' Morganroth said there are no plans for a memorial."
