The Salt Lake City Fire Department has received a $5,000 grant to purchase fire and carbon monoxide detectors for distribution to low-income families, the elderly and the disabled.
Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America announced the awarding of a Heritage Rewards grant Thursday on behalf of the Burgess Group.
“It is crucial that vulnerable and low-income populations have the tools in their homes to protect their families,” said Salt Lake City Fire Chief Kurt Cook.
“We want to thank the Burgess Group and Allianz for helping us purchase this equipment and keep our community safe,” Cook said.
The grant will be formally presented to Cook on Dec. 16.
